- After mydad passed away whenI was little, Islept with mymom ina3rd story apartment. Each night, Iwould see the shadow ofahand inthe window and get scared, burying myhead between mymom’s back and the bed.
This went onfor acouple ofweeks, andI remember being terrified. Ifinally worked upthe courage tolook atthe windowsill inthe day. Nothing was there.
Iwent outside and looked upatthe window. Nothing was nearit. Icannot explainit. Just weird.©t-rex82/ Reddit
- Ionce stayed atahotel for awork conference. The next morning, mycoworker asked whyI was banging around at3a.m. IsaidI was asleep all night. Heswore hesaw meinthe hallway inabathrobe. Even waved atme. Said Ididn’t respond.
Wechecked the security cameras. There was someone who looked exactly like mewalking into Room 514. But Iwas inRoom 508. Room 514 was unoccupied. Istill can’t explain what had happened.
- One day, myphone buzzed with aweather alert for atown I’d never beento. Ten minutes later, Igot acall—my dad had been inacar crash there. Hewas passing through, unplanned.
Ichecked mylocation history. That town wasn’t listed anywhere. Noone had ever used myphone from there. The alert vanished afterI clickedit.
Mydad survived, thankfully. But I’ve never gotten aweather alert like that since. And Istill don’t know why itshowedup. Ididn’t even have weather notifications turnedon.
- Iwas probably 13or 14, and mybrother, who’s two years younger, was outside with meplaying basketball. Mydad was traveling for business, but when hewas home, hewould goout tohis shed towork onwooden decoys, and hewould always say “hey guys” tomybrother andme.
So, one night while mydad was away onbusiness, weboth heard “Hey guys” inmydad’s voice, and weboth said “hey” back, thinking hecame home early. After wewere done playing, wewent inside toask mymom why dad was home, and she toldus hewasn’t.
Heended upcoming home two days later asscheduled. Mybrother andI remember itclear asday and still can’t explainit.©A**eman/ Reddit
- Istarted anew job, met the team, got settled. Aweekin, someone said, “You’re back! Ithought you quit.” Isaid, “Nope, just started.” They insisted I’d worked there last year. Same name, same look, same position.
One guy even pulled upaphoto—blurry, butI won’t lie... itdid look likeme. HRswore they’d never had someone with myname before. ITsaid myemployeeID was brand new.
People kept slipping and calling mebythe “old Me’s” nickname. Itwas like I’d replaced someone that technically didn’t exist. Ormaybe I’m just doing are-run...
- MyMom was looking atanold photo album and talking about aparty that she organized for her coworkers years ago. She said that itwas nice ofmetohave helped her there, setting upthe tables etc... Ihave zero recollection ofthat party, nothing, soI thought she was joking.
Then she showed methe pictures, andI was there! It’s not likeI was akid. Iwas maybe 19or 20. Iwonder what else mybrain erased.©sonia72quebec/ Reddit
- Iused tohave recurring dreams atmysister’s house about alittle girl with dark hair and pale skin (which are traits mysister has, bythe way) telling methat she was staying there because mysister reminded her ofher mother.
Months later, myniece (only two atthe time) stopped inthe middle ofthe steps and plainly said tome, “Her mom died here.” ©astro-ponies/ Reddit
- One day, Iarrived home from school around 4pm. When Itried toopen the door, Ifelt asthough someone was pushing meback. Assuming itwas probably myroommate trying toprankme, Itold him tostop and let mein.
Suddenly, the door could beopened, but there was noone behindit. There was noone home (it’s asmall apartment with only one door).
Atthat moment, Ithought wemight have been robbed, soI checked all the rooms, corners, and everywhere toensure there was nobody present. Icalled myroommate, only tofind out hewas still inalecture.©Aira_/ Reddit
- Iwoke uptoanalert from our home security system: “Back door opened.3:04 a.m.” Ichecked the footage. Isaw aman who looked exactly like myfiancé—same jacket, same figure. Except... hewas asleep. Iturned and wanted towake himup, but thenI froze whenI saw his side ofthe bed empty.
Iwas about toget out ofbed tosearch for him, but then suddenly myphone buzzed. Itwas atext from anunknown number. Ifroze asIread: “Just soyou know, your fiancé leaves your house atthis hour tosee his girlfriend.”
Mywhole world fell apart. Ididn’t say anything but stayed awake the next day, and heleft bed at3a.m. and went out. Iconfronted him, and headmitted that hehad been seeing another woman for the last 2months.
Webrokeup, and mylife was forever changed. But Istill have noclue who that text was from.
- Iwas dozing onthe couch atmyparents’ place, though not comfortably becauseI was cold. Then Ifelt awave ofheat pass overme, which was pleasant enough untilI felt these firm, pointed fingertips onmyhead, like something was standing behind mewith its hands onmyscalp.
Iwas frightened, but then grabbed them and threw them offme. Afew minutes later, mymom came inand said she heard adoor open and had afeeling she should check onme. It’s probably just adream, but itwas super, super creepy.©Dr__Snow/ Reddit
- Igot anemail with asubject line that said, “Remember this?” Nosender address. Just blank. The email body was aphoto ofmyold bedroom, from adecade ago.
Itwas messy inaway onlyI would recognize. There were nosigns ofphotoshopping. Ishowed myparents. They had noidea how anyone would’ve takenit. Ididn’t even own aphone that took pictures back then.
The email vanished afew minutes later. Not inTrash. Not inArchive. Just... not there anymore.
