The 16 best breakfast and brunch in Rancho Mirage (2024)

The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage is one of the best Palm Springs hotels, with luxurious large rooms overlooking the Coachella Valley and a kid friendly environment. The resort is within walking distance of many attractions in Palm Springs desert village.

Wow. This resort is absolutely stunning. Amazing views of the city and mountains. The firepit is absolutely wonderful. The ladies and gentlemen working here have made our stay the trip of a lifetime. Anything and everything you can think of, they are here to help. Room service, valet, front desk, housekeepers, they have all been absolutely fantastic. You couldn't choose a better location to stay. We will absolutely be back.

The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Palm Springs is a luxurious, world-class hotel that offers guests an unforgettable experience. I recently stayed at the hotel and was beyond impressed with the level of service and amenities. The hotel staff was friendly and attentive, and they went out of their way to make sure I had a great stay. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The on-site restaurants were excellent, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The hotel also has a pool and spa area, which was a great way to relax and unwind after a long day. The pool area was well-maintained and had plenty of seating for guests to enjoy.

Had lunch at State Fare restaurant earlier today and I was absolutely enamored by the service that not only the restaurant provided but the whole staff on property the host was one of my favorites. Her name is Valarie, she recommended the avocado croquets and what really wowed me was when I asked Ruben, one of the recreation attendants, to help me and guide me around the property so I can get a brief sneak peak. He was very sweet and excitedly guided me around. He was able to tell me history about the brand and much more. I am definitely going to stay at this property, the amenities you guys have are amazing and the staff are to match.

The service absolutely cannot be beat! The team at the Ritz Carlton tries very hard to exceed any/all expectations. Thank you JR in the lounge for making my wife a very special drink when she couldn't decide. Thank you Andrew and Sylvia at the front desk for help with checkout. Thank you Dennis for the kind way you welcomed us for my wife's birthday. Thank you Brando in the restaurant for your over-the-top service. The resort is gorgeous! The location is fantastic. The people have been the best part of this experience. Thanks for a great weekend. On a previous visit.... Mathias was fantastic at check-in.

We had a nice time relaxing and spending time within the resort.Everywhere else is a car ride away.Overall appearance and decor of the Hotel is lovely. Clean, updated & pristine. Majestic views and surroundings.Rooms are small, but lovely."Adult only" pool intimate, but don't understand why the lawn next to the pool is being used as a playground? Kinda defeats the "adult-only" experience.Spa was wonderful. Had a great message. Nice relaxation room, lockers & showers.Limited Dining experiences within the resort and quite $$$.The Edge Steak House is intimate-but pricey. Nice views when not facing the kitchen.Breakfast / Lunch Options are in the hotel restaurant which offers a breakfast buffet or by menu. Coming from NY, a bagel with lox & coffee @ $42.00 is a pit pricey. Service a bit slow. Disappointed that the "to go" station that offered nice options was not available on Sunday?Overall, a nice, relaxing getaway weekend, but wouldn't call this a five star resort given the limited amenities as compared to other resorts we've stayed at in comparison.

Always our preferred destination in the desert. Quiet and beautiful. The staff is great and with the renovations, the rooms are updated and pleasant. The adult pool is relaxing, and the all ages pool is a little more uptempo.I think my only complaint is that their in-house restaurant, State Fare Bar, is disproportionately expensive. As a frequent tracker, I understand that a hotel dining establishment is typically more expensive due to the convenience. But this restaurant is far above normal for both breakfast and lunch. For two co*cktails, a flat bread, and some French fries, the total with tip was around $140. That seems a touch excessive.Other than that, one of our favorite properties. We stay here for our wedding anniversary almost every year. They are always kind and help us celebrate in style.

This is not a five star resort. We travel a ton and have stayed at my high end hotels and the Ritz is sub-par at best. First, the room was tiny and old and very cramped. The rooms need major renovation. We were paying well over $1000 a night and it simply isn't worth it.Both pools were extremely crowed and at times the service was extremely slow. The staff were great but simply understaffed for peak times. The food was good but not great. The main steak restaurant was closed during our stay. And finally, after spending a week at this resort and having a $14,000 bill, the front desk argued with me that our breakfast was past the 11 AM cut off (our package had breakfast included) and charged us for lunch and only gave us credit for a few breakfasts instead of all of them.Overall we were extremely disappointed with this "category 7" resort. Won't be back.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at The Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage. From the moment we walked into the resort, the staff made us feel welcome and the service quality was evident. All were extremely warm and friendly.Joseph at the front desk welcomed us with early check-in and many recommendations for our stay that were invaluable, including neighborhoods for us to visit to see Mid-Century modernist homes. We loved our room, which had a beautiful view of the desert valley and mountains. And we enjoyed hiking the 4 trails that surround the resort.Breakfast in the State Fare Bar & Kitchen and was outstanding. We dined and/or had co*cktails every day on the terrace and were grateful we had luckily scheduled our trip during the nasty weather in DC. We note the outstanding service of Jonas, MagaliSalvador and Ron who work in the bar/terrace areas. Jonas took extra care of us and always had time for a friendly chat and suggestions for sites to visit in the area, which we really appreciated. We spent several lovely afternoons at both pools where all the staff were top notch and friendly. Star gazing at the resort with the teams who oversee the telescopes was fantastic. The overall stay was so wonderful that we are planning to return at the same time next year.

The staffs are friendly and nice. The breakfast buffet is amazing. Although it is pretty hot there, i enjoyed my vacation staying here for two nights. The SPA is also great! The iced towel provided by SPA smell like essential oils.

We recently stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage! As we all know, you cannot beat the service that RC properties have to offer. We were upgraded with our Marriott status upon arrival, so we had a very nice first floor room with a firepit. We could've stayed at the Parker or some other boutique hotel, but hands down we made the right choice for sticking with the Marriott family that we know well. We loved the location of this RC property as it was tucked up in the mountains away from the main roads, so it offered a very relaxing oasis. We had a few things pop up during our stay, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us while there. We would definitely recommend staying here and would go back in the future!

In town for a corporate event. Was very impressed the entire trip. At every meal and reception we had a resort representative present for the entire duration to make sure there were no issues. The food was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. Everyone went above and beyond. Very impressed.

We came out for a local event and stayed at the ritz. When we arrived our room was not ready. It was already past check in at 4pm so we were slightly annoyed. The staff was attentive though and gave us free drinks at the bar while we waited. This did make us slightly late to our event which was at 6:30, but all in all it wasn’t that bad of an experience compared to a few other hotels I have had this happen at. The room was amazing, we got the one bedroom residence. Loved the outdoor fire pit lit up at night. Was very peaceful and cozy.

Beautiful property, and the location is amazing. Sitting up on the hilltop is very quiet with amazing views of the San Jacinito mountains. When you come down the long driveway you are right in the heart of Rancho Mirage. World class dining, day spas and activities are right here. You are also only a short drive to Joshua Tree National Park. We took a couple of days off and stayed on property to enjoy the on-site restaurants, pools and their spa and gym.

David N — Google review

Great stay, beautiful views, incredible gym, free candy bar for kids (and adults) daily from 12-5pm. Very nicely manicured grounds, great dining options (note the Edge restaurant is only open Thu through Sunday). It is everything you would expect from a Ritz. My only minor feedback would be, the ground floor hallway and room are very dark and appear not as recently renovated as the upper floors. Also worth noting there is nothing walkable from the hotel everything is on premises.

The property sits at the top of a long drive, which itself is beautiful and adorned with an amazing water feature. The valet at this particular Ritz Carlton has always provided exceptional service. Also, I have to give a shout-out and credit to Christie, the assistant manager. I addressed an issue with her and she was exceptionally professional, understanding, and empathetic. At first blush, the property appears beautiful and well-maintained. And of course you have to give it a couple points for location. However, upon closer inspection, this particular Ritz, Carlton just doesn’t live up to the Ritz namn. Let’s start with the check-in. You can’t check into your room until 4 PM. That means you have wasted almost an entire day waiting for the room that you have booked for that evening. For example, you book a room for $1000 but you can’t get in the room until 4 PM, thus you can’t use the pool, spa, or any of the facilities until 4pm. When we finally checked in and while walking to our room we there were room service food plates dotting in the hallway that had been there from the prior night. The main bar area is decorated in a mid-century style and is uncomfortable and anything but relaxing. The main pool area is large with plenty of seating and shade. The water is clean and quite inviting. As a practice pointer, I would recommend calling ahead to make sure that all of the restaurants, pools and facilities are open. This hotel periodically goes through various renovations that will impact your stay. Overall, it’s a nice facility, but certainly needs some work to live up to a world class Ritz Carlton.Carlton

Everything was amazing!!! Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff, delicious food & craft co*cktails!! The Adult Pool is a nice touch. Definitely make a reservation at the Edge and order the lavender goat cheese dessert. Love it here!

Have you ever been to a hotel with five star service also five star personality from every employee in the building. This would be your vacation spot or if you're fortunate enough like myself to go there for a week on business. The banquet lead her name is Amie, when I say phenomenal I pride myself on customer service she was top shelf. From the front desk to the valet and also every employee in the building, they will make you remember their names by the service they provide for you. They also have one of the greatest views when you look out your rooms or when you come out to the swimming pool. The food was very enjoyable as well ❤️‍🩹.I've never been to Ritz-Carlton before, that is something everyone should experience at least once.

Do yourself a favor and read the most recent reviews on this hotel before booking. When I’m spending over $1,000 per night on a hotel room, I expect a pretty flawless experience. The resort is beautiful, the rooms are clean, and most staff members were professional. Unfortunately, a few poorly trained staff members (including a food service manager) ruined the experience. If I were paying half the price I paid, I might be able to look past these shortcomings. At these prices, it’s completely unacceptable.

Of course the RC properties offer such great service, their properties normally are well maintained and the location of this property is astonishing. Upon arrival we face happy faces everyone was very attentive to get you settle and relax! The restaurant food was very good and specially fresh. The location was ok, if you want to be secluded, you won’t find pathways to go around as the surroundings are mountains or private properties. However if you like hikes then you can do that instead. Service room is amazing, they will come and organize your bedroom and before bedtime they will come back and get your bed ready! Love it 😊

Steakhouse "The Edge" has Spectacular Views. The staff is excellent, very friendly and attentive. Swivel chairs are comfortable.Music was a bit loud and if you are looking for can classical music... Then this is the wrong place for you.The food was unfortunately nothing special: pork shank on grits was doused with bbq sauce, the house pasta lacked imagination and it's sauce wasn't creamy. Chicken and sea bass were good but nothing special... Same with the shareable appetizers --Didn't meet the expectation you have when going for a special dinner at the Ritz Carlton and exciting a five star meal. (Whole it certainly has the five star prices)So while the location with its views was wonderful and the wait stuff was attentive and just great, it wasn't worth it overall.Maybe just go there for drinks. We didn't order the $150 steaks and maybe those are excellent...They did give us a Berry Mousse with candle for my dad's birthday and that was very much loved and appreciated. This was unfortunately not on the dessert Menu -- the dessert menu had nothing comparable and was overall not interesting.

We passed through the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage to dine at one of the restaurants within, which was fabulous. Not surprisingly, the hotel looks beautiful from what we saw. It's located up on a hill, making this property nice and secluded. The grounds are stunning. This is definitely one of the top places to stay within the Palm Springs area.

You can spend a tremendous amount of money on a hotel room but if you want a freaking coffee at 9:05 they want you to pay $7 plus tax and fees.Just plain greed.I virtually never write bad reviews but this egregious gouging of customers that pay so much and have no other option is ridiculous.

Exceptional comfort and service. My room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The grounds are well maintained and offer views of the city below. The pool areas are relaxing but on the small side. I will return to this location.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful resort! The staff is very professional and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The resort features two gorgeous swimming pools, a fitness center, a spa, and two restaurants and a bar. The view is spectacular, with hiking opportunities right from the parking lot. We can really warmly recommend a stay in this fabulous resort!

My review is for the Spa, not the Hotel. The Hotel is wonderful 5/5 hands-down.For the spa, I emailed my concerns to them twice, but didn't get a reply. So posting my thoughts online. I am a bit disappointed the 80 minute massage was short of the full 80 minutes. The massage therapist greeted me at the quiet room at exactly 2pm, it was about 5 or 6 minutes later when the actual massage began (with walking to the room, introductions, explaining the procedure, me undressing, etc). then at the end of the massage, I spent a couple minutes doing some stretching by myself, got dressed & checked my watch, which was at 3:20pm…which was exactly 80 minutes from my scheduled 2pm appointment time. But there were many un-massaged minutes at the start and at the end of this window of time.My personal feeling is an 80 minute massage booking should equal 80 minutes of actual massage….not 80 minutes from the first moment you are greeted by the therapist until when you leave the room.I basically received a 73 or so minute massage. which I found disappointing and shortchanged. Especially considering the premium prices the spa charges. On the upside, those 73 minutes of massage were very good.Additionally, I do find the 50 minute / 80 minute massage time slots a bit lame in general…give the patients the full 60 or 90 minutes. Why save off those 10 minutes? It’s only the most expensive spas that do this. and even more disappointing when it’s cut shorter...

This resort is stunning and everything you would expect from a Ritz Carlton property. It’s very secluded, which could be considered a down side if you are looking for lots to do. However, are looking for a true relaxing getaway, this is the place. No request is too small and you know you will be taken care of from the moment you arrive.Palm Desert is close by and Palm Springs is a quick 20 minute drive away. Our first couple of nights the resort was fully booked but you never would have known because it was so quiet and relaxing. The rooms are somewhat on the smaller side, but clean and luxurious. Check in was easy and we appreciated the tequila welcome co*cktail. Loved the Diptique amenities in the bathroom!Thank you to Christian at the adults only pool for the hospitality and suggestions. We will be back!

This is a beautiful property with absolutely stunning views BUT I'm giving it 3 stars for couple of reasons. First of all it's food. We had a dinner at The Edge steakhouse and it was just OK. What was not ok is the wait time. It probably took about 2 hours to get our main courses. Steak was ok, jidori chicken was too salty but the "star" of the dinner was a deconstructed cheesecake. Total disappointment. So as a breakfast and other dinner at their bar area. Horrible ricotta pancakes and inedible crispy cauliflower.. save your money and eat at any restaurant outside of the property.Another reason for 3 stars is the fact that they double charged me for their valet. When I called the property they said that their accounting department was closed, which was a lie. After multiple tries they finally connected me. A lady said she will fix a problem but sounded more like she was doing me a favor... just because it's an expensive property doesn't mean that people don't care about charges. Other than that the property itself is wonderful, our room was fantastic, pool area is clean and beautiful.

Beautiful grounds in a peaceful location with views and hiking. The rooms were ok visually, not super fancy, and the toilet paper was terrible. The rooms weren’t very quiet, as you could hear everything in the hallways. We did have a beautiful outside patio with couches and a fire pit, which they didn’t turn on every night, most likely due to high winds.I enjoyed that they set up lawn games on some of the afternoons. The lobby was beautiful and very welcoming and high end.
